ABOUT
ISAIAH CAUDILLO
Isaiah Caudillo is currently in his undergrad pursuing a bachelor of music in oboe performance. He has rehearsed and performed with groups from the Central Valley and Southern California. Isaiah was the principal oboist of the Bakersfield Youth Symphony Orchestra and currently principal of the Bakersfield College Concert Band. Previously, Isaiah participated in The Bakersfield College/Cal State Bakersfield Orchestra, the Cal State Bakersfield Symphonic Band, and the SoCal Music Collective debut concert series. Furthermore, he began to play in Bakersfield's Civic Dance Center's Nutcracker rehearsals adding to his pit orchestra experience.
Mexican-American oboist Isaiah Caudillo brings an exciting perspective to music as he is very passionate about representing the historically underrepresented in music. A native of Bakersfield, California, he is a big advocate for expanding classical music to communities that do not have access to music education and more specifically oboe resources. Isaiah hopes to bridge the physical artistic gap between different regions of California through his dedicated reed making craft and teaching. Isaiah has studied with Dr. Laura Arganbright and currently, Dr. Yinchi Chang throughout his journey with the oboe. Both artists and educators provide both structural and creative insights to Isaiah's journey with music. Isaiah hopes to present as a role model to young oboist's who identify in the LGBTQ+ community and are people of color trying to find resources to be their best selves.
